Cappuccino Chat - Episode 31 - Office 365 Price Is Increasing

welcome back to another episode of cappuccino chat this time we're talking about the pricing being increased for office 365 starting next year in 2022. just in case you haven't heard yet in march 1st of 2022 the pricing for office 365 subscriptions is going to increase now it's going to be a slight increase depending on what plan you're on and the pricing does vary it goes anywhere from a dollar to four dollars per user per month so again depending upon which different suites you're using and packages as they have a lot of them i know is going to depend on how much of an increase this is now to be fair to microsoft they have not raised their pricing on office 365 since they launched it and they have been doing a lot of work in the back end now also on the end user side most of us probably only use anywhere from five to fifteen percent of the office suite so getting an increase probably doesn't seem like a lot but i want to remind you about everything that you are getting with everything that happened in 2020 and still into 2021 with everyone working remote office 365 microsoft 365 has become even more popular and the work from home crowd and work from anywhere crowd has really pushed this up and microsoft has stepped up over this time period and really increased the availability the usability and the feature set within microsoft teams now if you haven't used it i understand but it is part of your office 365 slash microsoft 365 suites and packages so they've done a lot of integration and back end upgrades adding new features etc to make that work from home those online meetings etc be more intuitive more feature rich and be able to accomplish much more so rather than paying for let's say a zoom subscription or go to my pc or any of those other ones you can use microsoft teams now just like you would all those other suites but it's included so you don't have to pay extra for it so if you take that into account you might be able to actually save yourself money versus buying those other packages now another feature that people often forget about microsoft 365 slash office 365 depending on how you want to look at it which package etc you're on is that once each user has a subscription assigned to them they can install office suite on up to five devices under their name now that doesn't mean you buy one license and you install it for five different people that's not what that is at all it is not legal it is against the microsoft software license agreement but each user can get it on up to five devices so a lot of times especially with everything we went through with 2020 2021 users now got issued laptops or tablets so in the old days if you or if you're still not on microsoft 365 office 365 you would have to buy a license for every device you use but with microsoft 365 you can now install it on the work computer their laptop their tablet their phone and if you want them to and you love them too on their personal device maybe their home computer all without costing you additional money they can now use the full office suite including teams onedrive word excel outlook all those good ones that we're used to using all without buying additional licensing thus again saving you money overall with your office suite purchases now there's not much getting around using office that's the mainstay for everybody so we're kind of stuck with this this is the best way to still get the most up-to-date office be kept up to date they push this in the back end to ensure as issues come up new features get released we automatically get that new version the only caveat to the new version is if they release a new version version so what i mean by that is right now we're on office 2019 so when they come out with office 2022 as they seem to come out with them every three years but most likely at the end of 2021 is when the actual software will come out you do get it for free it's part of your subscription but you may need to re-download it from your office 365 microsoft 365 portal but you do get it so you don't have to buy that new version and you can keep everybody in the organization on the same version which makes communication and helping each other in the office much much easier i see this a lot where there's three sometimes four or five different versions of office installed at a client site just because they don't want to pay for the upgrade for everybody because they don't use much but yet then when they all start sharing documents they have problems so get on office 365 microsoft 365. even though the price is going up there may be ways to overall save you money like i mentioned by using the new features in microsoft teams there's any questions please feel free to reach out to me you can call the office at 760-770-5200 you
